Have you ever thought, if I only had more money I would give to people that needed it? It’s time to think beyond what we are able to give only financially. How about if someone was having a rough day and you gave them some words of encouragement that really lifted their spirits? Or a neighbor calls you and needs help with walking their dog while they are at work for today. While you are in their home, you notice dirty dishes in the kitchen sink.
By doing something that might take a few minutes extra might really lift someone’s’ spirits. Imagine coming home and the dishes that we didn’t have time to do were clean in the dishwasher and was a total surprise!
It is helpful to keep an eye open to people around you and offer to help when we can. Not only does it help them, but it really helps the way we feel inside. By helping someone else, we create a sense of inner joy also!
You will be blessed with receiving gifts or blessings as well as shown in this verse:
Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back. Luke 6:38
Make today the first day of many that you do something unexpected for someone and start seeing the results of your actions through God who loves a cheerful giver!
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:6-7
