Relying on the Truth of God

truth-of-godIt is easy to get side tracked and just have our daily routine. Sometimes we forget or feel we don’t have time to pray or rely on the truth of God.  The Bible tells us to pray without ceasing.

Pray without ceasing. 1 Thessalonians 5:17

This may be one of the shortest verses in the Bible, but it really can affect our lives in a big way when we pray daily.  Pray for the Lord to speak to your heart so it will be be easier to hear the voice or truth of God.  Try to spend quiet time alone in prayer and in the Word of God.  Learn to trust Him and to acknowledge your failures in faith, repent and start noticing positive changes in your outlook.

If we fail to rely on the truth of God in our lives we may find ourselves doing these things:

1. Going astray in thought or belief

2. Develop non-Godly habits

3. Emotional Bondage or self blame

4. Hinder spiritual growth

5. Off balance emotionally

6. Destroy your testimony for God

7. Grieve the heart of God

8. Suffer continuous disappointments

9. Involved in poor relationships

10. Poor self image

11. Always looking to the past

12. Failing to achieve our full potential in life

God never wanted us to live our lives this way.  We cannot forget that He is looking out for us and it is important to read the Word of God each day for the knowledge we need. Learn to identify untruth and then change our direction!  Remember to trust and rely on the truth of God with even the smallest things, then watch Him work it out because He will never guide us down the wrong path.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
