In order to have your dream come true, do you ever want something so bad that you almost put your life on hold until you achieve it? For example it could be a number of things such as another car, home, job, location or relationship, etc.
I used to feel like I couldn’t be totally happy unless I got something that I didn’t have. I put a lot of my spare time into either thinking about it or working at it. It may have ruled my thinking and everyday life. My life wasn’t that bad but I desired a change, maybe something different might be exciting!
It’s great to have plans, but trying to excessively work toward them and putting too much thought or effort in these areas can backfire. As a Christian, the more I tried to achieve these things, the more things got thwarted time and time again.
This Bible Scripture explains why this is so:
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:33
I’ve learned to focus on God’s word, be patient and understand that He is working in my present circumstances. My priority is to trust God by faith, be thankful and obey Christ’s commandments. I’ve experienced my dream come true and my life is filled with joyous contentment, fulfilled needs and desires!
God does provide and it is also promised in this scripture:
He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Romans 8:32
No matter how much I think I need to have something and the more I dwell on it, it seems to be an impossible dream. It took a long time but I learned that the way to be happier is to pray by faith for God to provide. Thanking Him… knowing He will answer my prayers in His way and in His perfect timing.
And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” Matthew 21:22
It’s difficult to break years of habit trying to make a dream come true without trusting God. Once I gave my circumstances to Him, I’ve witnessed things that would have been impossible to achieve all on my own. It’s much easier and less stressful to let God handle my everyday living. It’s a daily struggle not to intervene on my own but so rewarding!
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28
