Middle of the Road Christians

middle-of-the-road

Many are middle of the road Christians in the church, so what’s the big deal?

What is a middle of the road Christian?

It is a Christian who is not necessarily hot or cold toward Christ.  They go to church but never really live life with real purpose toward God.

For example it may be someone who goes to church but never picks up the Bible during the week or is a good testimony for others.  They believe in God and may be a born again Christian but just are Luke warm when it comes to their Christianity. They don’t make time to spend time with God on a daily basis.

Jesus told the church of the Laodiceans that they were neither hot nor cold.  They were not acting against Christ, but they were not being enthusiastic toward Him.

To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
Revelation 3:14-16

Many come to church but don’t take part in the church’s projects or programs.  They don’t give much support in tithing, events or volunteering, etc.

This describes middle of the road Christians… neither hot nor cold, neither in nor out. A lukewarm middle of the road Christian is not what God desires!  He wants for us to be on fire for Him and enthusiastically living for Him and enjoy all the blessings He has for us.
